Only when the game just came out I did have the game crash when I had tried to edit one create a wrestler's entrance but I think it was due to the game not being able to handle the amount of custom textures the person used for the wrestler. I think it really depends what you are using to play and maybe some luck. The screen tearing issue has a fix from what I remember seeing but that shouldn't excuse 2K at all. I do agree with the graphic settings issue, it is weird they lock you to it but I wonder if its because they don't want to deal with people getting angry not being able to run the game at the highest with bad hardware. Wasn't bad for me, the patch actually made it better and fixed some things. I played 2K19 on PC and it felt pretty similarly built there. And lastly, the game still hangs and takes ages to load things in CaS, even though I have the game on my NVME. You can't even time your own pyros or camera cuts. As a matter of fact, creating entrances seems to have a lot less features than I remember from before. You can't have your own custom entrance music. There's three major disappointments for me though. The game has been a nostalgia trip for me, and it's especially great when I can download old-school wrestlers and arenas. This is the first WWE game I've played since SvR 2009 on PS3, which is also around the time I stopped watching wrestling. The 30FPS cinematic cuts were annoying as fuck though, but I turned them off. Although I was playing the game in windowed mode so I could alt-tab out properly, which means that I didn't have any screentearing. I was/am intending on buying it because it's actually good, and I want the image upload feature. My copy of the game is, let's just say, the non-Steam edition. In it, it'll say you're drawing over 100 fps, but it doesn't matter. Pretty hilarious also that they include a benchmarking tool. It's jarring to play a match at 60, then see it chug and drop down to 30 to do a fancy camera replay, then back to 60. This is a match with the PS4 and Xbox One ports of the game. So regardless of your PC build, you're stuck with at most 60 fps, which then drops to 30 fps during entrances and mid-match cutscenes for signature moves. Perhaps they aren't as sure that they'd get away with charging $70 for upgraded versions on PC as they can with the new consoles.Īs a result, PC has been stuck with last gen, and 2K made sure of that with WWE 2K22 on PC. So, only PS5 and Xbox Series are treated to the new graphical engines for their sports titles. Since 2K and EA hate the PC platform for some apparent reason, they've been insistent that PC isn't yet worthy of being "next gen". And 4k, ultra.Īnd I hope you enjoy screen tearing, because the game doesn't even allow you to turn on V Sync. Texture quality is locked to your resolution, so if you set the Res to 720p, you're stuck at Low. It's absolutely unheard of for a major release in 2022. PC graphics settings are barebones and you can't even change the texture quality settings. Even if you're not a WWE fan, you can buy this game and download rosters, arenas and belts from other companies and outside of not having the entrance music, it'll feel like you're playing a game from those other companies.Īs a PC player, it's been a miserable experience and it sucks no major outlet is covering the port's poor release.Ĭonstant crashes, warning messages about wrong graphics card installed, controller input not being accepted either at startup or during gameplay, saves being wiped. I've gotten so much more mileage out of this game because I have professional-looking WWE, WCW and AEW wrestlers, arenas and title belts downloaded that aren't in the game. You can upload images and use them for creations which allows for developer-quality content to be shared by the community. The best part about the game is the community creations. TNA Impact came out in 2008 and had better graphics than WWE games that came out a decade later but the graphics are gorgeous in 2K22, the first time I can say that for a game in this series. There's only one reversal button which is much better than the two-button system found in previous 2K games. It feels arcadey and fast but the match plays out in a realistic way, like something you'd see on TV. I had low expectations for 2K22 but I'm absolutely loving this game. The N64 games were obviously classics but since that generation ended the only wrestling games I've really enjoyed have been Here Comes The Pain, Def Jam Vendetta, TNA Impact and WWE All-Stars. I'm a huge wrestling fan but there have been very few wrestling games I've enjoyed over the years, mainly because I've never been much of a fan of the SmackDown/2K series.
